Lanka in forefront in health indices

State Revenue and Finance Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya told Parliament yesterday that Sri Lanka is in the forefront of indices of life expectancy at birth, net mortality rate (per 1,000), net infant mortality rate (per 1,000), human development index and as a percentage of people who are under the poverty line compared to other countries in the SAARC region.

The Minister said this is a tremendous achievement for Sri Lanka which was battered by terrorism for the past 30 years.
