Dematagoda primary school shifting

The shifting of primary section of the Khairiya Muslim Girls School-Dematagoda to Al Hijra Muslim School-Kuppiyawatte will be held today at 9.00 am at Al Hijra school.

Due to the space problem faced by Khairiya school the Western Province Education Department has decided to shift the primary section of Khairiya to Al Hijra where a large space is available.

The Khairiya Action Front (KAF) an organisation consisting of parents, past pupils and well-wishers took steps to construct temporary classes until a permanent building is provided by the Government.

The temporary classrooms were constructed at a cost of four million rupees and opening ceremony will be held under the patronage of Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. H. Mohamed and Western Province Governor Alavi Mowlana.

Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunge will be the guest of honour. The foundation stone for the new four-storey building for Khairiya Muslims Girls School, will be laid by WP Chief Minister.
