A sannasa of a different sort......:
NSB annual report declares independence...
The National Savings Bank presented their latest annual report to
President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently.
Its design recalls a sannasa, a medieval court document in a special
container, often used to commemorate victory in battle. The theme of the
report celebrates the courage and resilience of the Sri Lankan people
down the ages.
It reflects the NSB’s firm, independent stance in a world of economic
turmoil and its promise to free and shelter its customers from the
effects of international financial crises.
Standing surety and offering support to 15 million account holders
around the country at this time of special need, the NSB declares that
it would ‘lead from the front, providing security and inspiration to all
Sri Lankans to meet the challenges as well as seize the opportunities of
the current moment.’
GM and CEO of NSB Sunil Perera presented the annual report to
President Mahinda Rajapaksa while Minister of State Revenue and Finance
and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, NSB
Chairman S.R. Attygalle, NSB Director M.K.B. Dissanayake, Additional
General Manager H.M. Hennayake Bandara and Senior DGM Dhammika Perera
were also present. |
