Very good response to SLBFE call

Foreign employment authorities are expecting, that the 1.6 million strong Sri Lankan migrant worker fraternity would heed their call to help fellow displaced countrymen in the North, by making a significant contribution to boost the welfare and development drive.

Chairman of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) Kingsly Ranawaka said yesterday that their call to Lankan migrants to lend a helping hand, had already met with a very positive response.

He also said that the collection of funds would be done in a very transparent manner with the names of donors who contribute towards the cause being displayed on their web site.

Ranawaka said the collected funds would be used to supplement Government efforts in rebuilding the conflict affected people and areas with the utilization of monies being supervised by a specially appointed monetary board.

According to the SLBFE, contributors could send their donations directly to Account Number 9290730(swift code-BCEYLKLS) set up at the Bank Of Ceylon head office. For further information they could either approach the Bureau directly or visit their web site www.slbfe.lk.
