Over 17,000 A(H1N1) flu cases worldwide

Switzerland: The World Health Organization confirmed 17,410 cases of influenza A(H1N1) and 115 deaths in 62 countries.

The US has the largest number of patients with 8,975 and 15 deaths, followed by Mexico with 5,029 cases and 97 deaths and Canada has 1,336 cases with two fatalities. The disease keeps spreading namely in Asia and the southern hemisphere but the latest outbreaks have been reported in the Bahamas, Bolivia, Cyprus, Estonia, Jamaica, Japan, Hungary, Paraguay, Venezuela and Vietnam.
