Airmen Men's hockey champions

Sri Lanka Air Force 'A' (men's) Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya (school girls) and Christ Church College (school boys) became cup champions at the All Island Bank of Ceylon Super Sevens seven-a-side hockey tournament organized by Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya and sponsored by Bank of Ceylon and worked off at the Asgiriya International Cricket Stadium in Kandy over the weekend.

Schools - girls

In the cup finals for girls Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya underlined their supremacy at girls schools hockey by defeating Vijaya College, from the hockey tour of Matale 2-1 in the finals for girls schools.

Sounding the boards for Seetha Devi BV were Harshani Kumari and Upeksha Tillekeratne. For Vijaya College R. Theniyadasa scored.

Defending champions Pushpadana relegate to plate championship won this title defending Christ Church College Matale 4-3 on penalty strokes after the match had ended on a scoreless draw.

Yasodhara Vidyalaya - a big name from defeating Sanghamitta BV Matale 1-0 in the finals.

The Shield title went to Seetha Devi BV 'B' who defeated St. Anthony's Girls College, Kandy 2-1 on penalty strokes.

Schools - boys

Chirst Church College, Matale scored a thrilling 2-1 win over their home town rivals St. Thomas College, Matale to win the Cup Championship.

This match produced sparkling hockey with the stickers from Christ Church dominating the game by notching up two early goals through T. Sandaruwan and Samith Bandara. The Thomian scored through Mudhitha Marapane. Vijaya College Matale won the Plate Championship by defeating Zahira College Matale 4-3 on penalty strokes.

Ananda College Colombo won the Bowl Championship scoring a 3-0 win over Sri Sumangala College Kandy on penalty strokes following deadlock at the end of regulation time.

Nalanda Vidyalaya defeated Trinity College 2-1 to walk away with the Shield.

Men's inter club

Sri Lanka Air Force 'A' pulled off a great 2-1 win over the defending champions Sri Lanka Army to take the Cup Championship for Men. Sri Lanka Air Force scored through Sameera Perera and Mohamed Mulaffer while R. Ranasinghe sounded the boards for the soldiers.

Air Force won yet another title when their 'B' team won the Plate Championship defeating Police 'B' 2-1.

The Bowl Championship was pocketed Navy 'B' who beat Park SC, Matale 2-1 on penalty strokes.

Navy 'A' who had a much stronger side but beaten in the earlier matches by stronger sides won the shield title defeating Vijaya Sports Club, Matale in the losers final.

Best players of the tournament

Men: Dhammika Abeyratne (Sri Lanka Air Force).

Women: Pradeep Nandasena (Sri Lanka Navy).

Boys: Thilina Sandaruwan (Christ Church College).

Girls: Nadeeka Kumari (Seetha Devi BV).
