Sanghika Dhana at PM's office
A Sanghika Dhana to 100 Buddhist monks to bestow merit on war heroes
and also to invoke blessings on wounded soldiers and those engaged in
military operations will be held at the Prime Minister's Office today.
This ceremony will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister
Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka.
Chief prelates of Asgiri, Malwathu, Ramanna and Amarapura together
with leading Buddhist monks representing all the districts including
Jaffna, Mannar, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi will grace the occasion.
Sathjana Sathkara
The Sathjana Sathkara program organized by artistes to bestow merits
on War Heroes and victims of LTTE terrorism which plagued the country
for the 30 years will be held on June 5 at the Independence Square,
Colombo 7 at 5.00 p.m.
This pinkama ceremony will be preceded by a procession attended by
artistes and the Mahasangha commencing at 4 pm from John de Silva
Memorial Theatre.
This pinkama ceremony will be conducted by Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha
Thera.
Mihindu Perahera
The Mihindu Maha Perahera organised by the primary section of
Isipathana Vidyalaya, Colombo to mark Poson Poya will commence at 8 a.m.
tomorrow.
It will parade along Udyana Patumaga, Udyana Mawatha, High Level Road
and Isipathana Mawatha.
The perahera will feature several cultural items including the
participation of dancers and tuskers.
Exhibition
The Association of National Photographers will hold their annual
members photographic exhibition on June 5, 6 at the Lionel Wendt from 10
am onwards.
Pinnacle unveiling ceremony
The pinnacle unveiling ceremony of the newly-built Chethiya at
Shailanthayathana Purana Viharaya in Habarakada, Homagama will be held
at 2.56 p.m. on June 5 under the patronage of Viharadhipathi Ven. Uhana
Nandarathana Thera.
Badur Mowlood
The recital of Badur Mowlood will be conducted by Al Haj Moulavi M.T.
Hillurdeen (Falahi) and Al Haj Moulavi A.B.M. Mubarak (Falahi) from June
4 after Magrib prayers and will continue until Isha prayers at the
Nawala Jummah Mosque.
Prayers,
The program will commence on Sunday, June 7, Rathibathul Jalaliya
will be recited by Moulavi Al Haj A.B.M. Mubarak (Falahi) and M.Y.M.
Rafi. It will start after Magrib prayers and will continue till Isha
prayers. A religious lecture will also be conducted by Moulavi Al Haj
A.B.M. Mubarak (Falahi) after Isha prayers at the Nawala Mosque. |
