ANCL sponsored Mihintale poson illumination program from June 6

The Mihintale annual Poson Illumination program (Mihintale Aloka Pooja) sponsored by Lake House for the 47th consecutive year will be held for three days starting from June 6.

The CEB assists the Lake House in this venture.

The Aloka Pooja is held on the Anusasana of Ven. Namalwewe Rathanasara Nayake Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Mihintale Raja Maha Viharaya and on the instructions of the President of the Mihintale Sacred City Development Committee and Minister of Petroleum Resources Duminda Dissanayake.

On June 6, the Aloka Pooja will be inaugurated by Ministers Laxman Yapa Abeywardane, Tissa Karalliyadda, S.M. Chandrasena, North Central Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, Road Development Deputy Minister W.B. Ekanayake and Public Trustee N.S.A.S. Seneviratne. On Poson Poya day, June 7 the Illumination program is scheduled to be opened by Ministers Anura Priyadarsana Yapa, W.D.J. Seneviratne, Dinesh Gunawardane, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane and Pandu Bandaranayake with North Central Provincial Governor Karunaratne Divulgane participating as the Chief Guest.

On the last day the Government Agent for Anuradhapura H.M.K. Herath, ANCL Chairman Bandula Padmakumara and CEB Chairman E.A.S.K. Edirisinghe will open the Aloka Pooja.
