Sri Lankans capable of achieving anything - Minister

Considering the golden achievement of defeating LTTE, we Sri Lankans are confident achieving anything. We are rather capable of cultivating every inch of land cultivable the Minister of Education Susil Premajayanth said.

The Minister said so, participating in the Sabaragamuwa Province Agriculture Exhibition at Parakrama Maha Vidyalaya, Rambukkana.

The Exhibition has been organised by the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Department of Education under the advice of the Education Ministry. Moves are underway by the Education Ministry along with “Api Wawamu Rata Nagamu” program of Agriculture Ministry to cultivate every inch of soil which helps us to overcome cultivation war.

Under this program schoolchildren are educated about the value of cultivation while they are induced to cultivate. “Students will be encouraged to cultivation by exhibitions, seminars and other agriculture based programs” Minister Premajayanth said.

“Increasing the enthusiasm for cultivation is the best way to lead students towards cultivation. It is a must since we all are to develop the country which was lagging behind for over three decades owing to the LTTE terrorism. Moreover Sabaragamuwa Province has become the first Province which is conducting the agriculture exhibition as we realised the value of agriculture” Sabaragamuwa Province Chief Minister Mahipala Herath said.
