'Buffy The Vampire Slayer': The reboot?
Looks like the rumours that wafted around the web late last year were
true: the rights holders to 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' really are trying
to get a new movie made.

Here's the kicker, though: Buffy's creator and the man who made the
character work so well when he brought it to TV - Joss Whedon - isn't
involved.
That sound you hear is 10,000 angry Whedon fans screaming at once.
Yes, Buffy rights holders Fran Rubel Kuzui and hubby Kaz have partnered
up with Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment to start
developing a "relaunch".
It won't feature the supporting cast - Willow, Xander, Spike or Angel
- from the show, but instead is a plan to restart the storyline. And
there isn't even a script yet- the producers are getting pitches from
writers.
"It was Roy's interest in taking Buffy into a new place that grabbed
us," Fran Kuzui tells The Hollywood Reporter, admitting that she might
get Whedon involved but hasn't asked. "It was based on our respect for
what he does, and his particular sensitivity to Asian filmmakers, that
we wanted to work with him."
