Badur Mowlood
The recital of Badur Mowlood will conducted by Al Haj Moulavi M. T.
Hillurudeen (Falahi) and Al Haj Moulavi A. B. M. Mubarak (Falahi) will
be held on May 28 after Magrib prayers and will continue until Isha
prayers at the Nawala Jummah Mosque.
Convocation
The second annual convocation of the Anuradhapura Buddha Sravaka
Bhikkhu University will be held at the Maha Vihara auditorium
Anuradhapura on May 29 at 2.30 p.m. The Mahopadyaya of the university
Most Ven. Udugama Buddharakkhita Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya
Chapter will preside.
Pinkama
A pinkama to bestow merits on the war heroes and invoke blessings on
the wounded soldiers organised by 'Tharunyata Hetak' will be held at Gal
Edanda Raja Maha Viharaya, Kadawatha at 6 p.m. on May 31 presided by the
Viharadhipathi of the temple. A Dharma Deshanawa too will follow this
ceremony at 7 p.m. on the same day. Further information may be obtained

AGM
The fifteenth Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Sri Lankan
photographers will be held at Organisation of Professional Associations
(OPA), 275/75, Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha, Off Bhauddhaloka Mawatha,
Colombo 7 on Saturday, May 30.
Exhibition
"The Loyolian Innovations 2009" an Educational, Cultural and Trade
Exhibition organised by Loyola College, Negombo to coincide with its
60th anniversary will be held at the school premises from May 27 to 31.
Blood donation
A blood donation campaign has been organised by the Past Pupils
Association of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda on May 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As a National Importance the PPA takes this initiative to show their
gratitude towards the war heroes who freed the country from terrorism.
Opening
The Ihala Beligalla mechanised carpentry training school built at a
cost of Rs. 2.5 million will be opened by Irrigation, Water Management,
Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa on May 28 at 10 a.m.
Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal de Silva will also
participate.
Concert, prize giving
The Annual Concert and Prize Giving of Trinity College London -
Guildhall London, will take place on Saturday, May 30 at 5 p.m. at the
Bishop's College Auditorium, Colombo 2.
High Commissioner for UK in Sri Lanka, Dr. Peter Hayes and Mrs. Hayes
will be the Chief Guests. |
