Doctor sentenced to death for wife, child murder

A person who was found guilty of murdering his doctor wife and his six month old infant was sentenced to death by Kandy Provincial High Court Judge Wimal Nambuwasam last Monday (25/05). The convicted person is Dr. Sankaja Pathirage who was charged with the killing of his wife doctor Chandani Daththasinghe (30) and his son Chamuth Asinsa on September 17, 2005. The accused has been absconding while the case was being heard and the Judged passed sentence in absensia.

The Judge ordered the police to produce the convicted doctor before Court.
