Joseph and Krishantha win Bostock Pots Golf competition

Twenty handicapper Noel Joseph and Ajith Krishantha won the inaugural Bostock Pots Golf Competition organised by the Victoria Golf and Country Resort and worked off at the picturesque Victoria golf course at Rajawella off Kandy.

Over forty golfers were off to a shot gun start on a golf course which was in topping condition and made difficult by the Course Manager Maheel Bulumulla to extract the best out of hte golfers and make the game exciting for them.

Noel Joseph who earlier won the Nett Championship in the Mark Bostock Memorial golf championship was this time partnered by Ajith Krishantha who played to a handicap of 26 and this dup got the better of a large field of golfers.

Clinching the runner up berth was Priath Fernando playing to a handicap of 11 and Christie Thornton who had the handicap of 15. In third place was expatriate Ms M. Petre (handicap 14) and Sujeewa Lankatillake (handicap 3). Sujeewa Lankatillake is the lowest handicapper at Victoria at present with his consistent performance in winning has resulted in the scaling of his handicap.

Strongly built Australian born Errol Johnston displayed in no uncertain terms what a strong hitter he is when he sent the ball sailing with a mighty drive to win the longest drive for the day for gentlemen. The longest drive for ladies was won by P. Hellmann.

Joan Moore continued to win the Nearest to the Pin for the Ladies, a title which she won in the Mark Bostock Memorial Championship. Sujeewa Lankatillake won the Nearest to the pin title for gentlemen.
