Joseph and Krishantha win Bostock Pots Golf competition

Twenty handicapper Noel Joseph and Ajith Krishantha won the inaugural
Bostock Pots Golf Competition organised by the Victoria Golf and Country
Resort and worked off at the picturesque Victoria golf course at
Rajawella off Kandy.
Over forty golfers were off to a shot gun start on a golf course
which was in topping condition and made difficult by the Course Manager
Maheel Bulumulla to extract the best out of hte golfers and make the
game exciting for them.
Noel Joseph who earlier won the Nett Championship in the Mark Bostock
Memorial golf championship was this time partnered by Ajith Krishantha
who played to a handicap of 26 and this dup got the better of a large
field of golfers.
Clinching the runner up berth was Priath Fernando playing to a
handicap of 11 and Christie Thornton who had the handicap of 15. In
third place was expatriate Ms M. Petre (handicap 14) and Sujeewa
Lankatillake (handicap 3). Sujeewa Lankatillake is the lowest
handicapper at Victoria at present with his consistent performance in
winning has resulted in the scaling of his handicap.
Strongly built Australian born Errol Johnston displayed in no
uncertain terms what a strong hitter he is when he sent the ball sailing
with a mighty drive to win the longest drive for the day for gentlemen.
The longest drive for ladies was won by P. Hellmann.
Joan Moore continued to win the Nearest to the Pin for the Ladies, a
title which she won in the Mark Bostock Memorial Championship. Sujeewa
Lankatillake won the Nearest to the pin title for gentlemen.
