Shehan wins ‘Silver’ in China

Commonwealth Youth Games triple gold medallist Shehan Ambepitiya won the silver medal in the men’s 100 metres event at the Asian Grand Prix first leg track and field meet worked off in China.

Ambepitiya will be hoping to produce an improved performance as he will be competing in the second leg of the Asian Grand Prix meet on Wednesday at the same venue. The third and final leg of the Asian Grand Prix will be held in Hong Kong on May 30.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka’s Rohitha Pushpakumara had to be satisfied with the fifth position in the men’s 400 metres event while Chandrika Sudarshini was placed fourth in the women’s 400 metres event.
