The manifestation of another LTTE arms struggle in Sri Lanka is
absolutely remote. The fugitive existence of Prabhakaran’s international
point men, such as arms smugglers and money launderers of the sort of K.
Pathmanathan are in no position to have any effect, but being captured
for their crimes, Defence Spokesman and Minister Keheliya Rambukwella
yesterday told the Daily News.
He said this on being asked , whether the government is taking steps
to track down the LTTE’s international heads. Minister Rambukwella said,
“The overseas remnant of the LTTE, among them K. Pathmanathan is not
only being tracked by the Government of Sri Lanka, but also by many
other governments in the world.”
“He is also being tracked down by the Interpol for numerous acts of
crime and terrorism. This person has been cancerous to society wherever
he has lived,” he said and added , “ It is the duty of the international
community to bring him to justice.”
K.Pathmanathan or “KP” is said to be the principal arms procurer for
the LTTE.
Rambukwella said, “the LTTE was having international routes. I admit,
but the ground reality is that the outfit’s military infrastructure has
been totally demolished together with their manpower,” he pointed out.
”They cannot wage any immediate military struggle with their leader
Velupillai Prabhakaran being killed and their military infrastructure
being reduced to rubble, even with the presence of Pathmanathan wanted
for high crime,” he said. |
