Medvedev leads Summit delegation
Russia: President Dmitri Medvedev will lead the delegation to
Russia-European Union Summit on May 21 and 22 in Jabarovsk, in Russia
Far East, confirmed diplomatic sources here Monday.
Kremlin ambassador to the EU Vladimir Chizhov affirmed its peer will
be represented by the country’s leader who is at the presidency of the
integration bloc temporarily the Czech Vaclav Klaus.
There will be also the head of the European Comission Jose Manuel
Durao Barroso and the Higher representative of the Foreign Policy and
Common Security at the EU Javier Solana.
During a Moscow-Brussels-Jabarovsk interactive conference organized
by RIA Novosti press agency the diplomatic informed the global financial
crisis, the energy problem and European security will be the key issues
of the agenda.
Regarding the economic scourge born in United States which is now
affecting the planet he considered the joint action, the exchange of
experience in the anti crisis fight and confrontation of initiatives
used to palliate its effects useful.
Chizhov recalled Medvedev proposition of elaborating a new juridical
order for cooperation in the energetic field that will be a very
important aspect in the talks.
The president’s idea is of global character but we considered its
discussion with the European partners very important, he added.
