Nation pays tribute to President

The whole nations’ tribute is due to President Mahinda Rajapaksa for accomplishing the task of reuniting the country by totally defeating cruel LTTE terrorists, said Nation Building Minister Susantha Punchinilame in a message issued yesterday.

Punchinilame said President Rajapaksa’s feat is reminiscent of the past deeds accomplished by king Dutugemunu who was also a product of Magampura. The President achieved this victory with the assistance of countries such as India and China disregarding the obstructions made by LTTE friendly forces.

Part of the credit for this victory should also go to the Defence Secretary, Armed Forces’ Chiefs, the IGP, Director of Civil Security service and all war heroes including those who laid down their lives and were disabled in defending the nation.

The time had now come to start the development war which responsibility had been cast on the shoulders of senior Presidential Advisor MP Basil Rajapaksa.

All patriotic citizens should come forward to assist him in this effort and protect the Tamil Community and cater to their welfare to ensure that terrorism would not raise its ugly head in this country again.
