The news alert service launched by the Information Department in collaboration with the Dialog Telekom Limited has attracted over 150,000 subscribers within a short span of three weeks.

According to Government Information Director, Anusha Pelpita, the subscriber base for the SMS service is increasing rapidly due to its quality, accuracy and speed.

The service has been commended by the subscribers for breaking important news of national interest.

The Dialog subscribers can register with this service free of charge by typing INFO in a Text message and sending it to 678. This service is available to both post-paid and pre-paid customers.
