Minister praises media's commendable role

Media Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena has thanked the media for the assistance given towards the eradication of terrorism by disseminating correct news about the humanitarian operation carried out by the Security Forces to create proper public awareness about them.

The Minister in a letter addressed to heads of all media institutions said the media had played a commendable role by telling the people the true side of the story and strengthening the morale of the Security Forces engaged in humanitarian operations in the North.

Their service was equally important like that of the soldiers who fought hard to wipe out terrorism from the face of Sri Lanka.
