Book launch
Kusumsiri Wijayawardane's latest book Mahanuwara-Loka Uruma Nagaraye
Smaraka will be launched at Dayawansa Jayakody Book Exhibition Hall,
Colombo 10 on May 19 at 10 a.m.
Mahanuwara was the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. It has been declared a
world Heritage city by the UNESCO. The book is a Dayawansa Jayakody Book
Publication.
Cricket Tharu Mela postponed
Cricket Tharu Mela, the star cricket carnival organized by a host of
popular artistes, which was to be held on May 23 has been postponed for
next month. The organizers said that the new date will be announced
soon. The event will be held in aid of the war heroes of the country
with the participation of popular artistes from cinema, television and
the music scene.
City FM songs
Popular vocalist Somathilaka Jayamaha will sing a number of well
loved songs on City FM Miyuru Kalpana at the Ananda Samarakoon Studio of
the radio channel on May 21 at 6 p.m. Wasantha Rohana will compere the
event which is produced by Sunil Amarasinghe. The event is sponsored by
People's Bank.
Akalanchiya at John de Silva
Rohana Baddege's stage play Akalanchiya will go on boards the John de
Silva Theatre on May 21 at 3.30 p.m. And 6.30 p.m. Bandula Vijeweera,
Nilmini Kottegoda, Madanee Malwattha and Somapala Pathirage comprise the
cast. Jagath Padmasiri is the make up artist.
Amith Nalinda Liyanage and Buddhika Wickramatunge play their part by
handling the music.
The play is scripted and produced by Rohana Baddege. The production
manager is Edward Chandrasiri while Jude Srimal handles the
coordination. The event is organized by the Kotikawattha Public
Marketing Welfare Society. |
