President a genuine leader - Asgiriya Mahanayake Thera

Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Thera said the entire country could understand the President's genuine love and honour for his Motherland in the manner he knelt down and kissed the soil of the country as soon as he got down from airplane.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa through this action displayed to the entire country one of the laudable qualities to be possessed by a genuine leader, the Thera said.

Everybody should extend their honour to the President irrespective of politics or any other petty differences towards the genuine attempts made by him to eradicate terrorism from this country.

If President Mahinda Rajapaksa did not come to power, this terrorist problem would have dragged on for another several years, the Mahanayake Thera added.
