ALBA for UN role against crisis

CZECH: Republic: Nicaraguan Deputy Foreign Minister Valdrack Jaentschke affirmed on Thursday that for the countries of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), only the UN could face the world economic crisis.

For us, he said, the UN is the only one able to adopt the measures needed to design a new international financial architecture, though the role of G20 is recognized. Jaentschke told Prensa Latina small groups are not representative, but the whole world community. "For ALBA there is a G-192, which is that of the UN," he noted.

Cooperation among nations must be translated into solidarity, sharing resources, technologies, with our predecessors' dream of a united Latin America, the Nicaraguan official commented.
