Joes edge out Antonians

The giant killers St. Joseph's College edged out St. Anthony's College by 27 points to 25 points in their inter school under 20 'A' division league rugby tournament match worked off at Longden Place yesterday.

The Joes who were trailing 5-12 at half time came back strongly in the second half and collected their points from one goal and four tries while the Antonians responded with one goal, three tries and one penalty.

Dhanuka Anthony scored two tries for the winners while Malintha Soysa, Charith Perera and Maduanga Soysa scored a try each with the latter converting one try.

Haroon Yvais scored two tries while Hashen Jayasekera and Tharindu Chamal scored one try each for the Antonians.

Chamal converted one try and also put over a penalty. C.D
