Fifty five foot LTTE suicide boat recovered

A 55-foot long LTTE suicide boat, laden with more than 1500 kg of high explosives was recovered by the Army's 53 Division troops, from Vellamullavaikkal, Mullaitivu yesterday.The suicide boat, found hidden close to the beach was filled with claymore mines around its hull, Army sources said. It is believed that the terrorists, who are facing imminent defeat had kept this suicide boat laden with a massive amount of explosives with the intention of launching a surprise attack on the troops, security sources added.
