Eighteen claymores found in Thotalanga

Eighteen powerful claymore mines, each weighing 7.5 kg were found hidden inside a garage in Lucas road, Thotalanga in Grandpass by an Army unit yesterday evening.

The Police media sources said that along with the 18 bombs, the raiding team had also unearthed other accessories such as switches, detonators and two communication sets.

One person had been taken into custody so far, in an on going investigation, the Police said.
