Special Awards - General Convocation held on February 26

Vidarshani Chaturika Nawalage was awarded the Prof. M. D. Dassanayake Gold Medal for the best performance in Botany and the University Award for Academic Excellence at the Special Degree Examination in Science 2007/2008 of the University of Peradeniya.

Nawalage who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. U. Nawalage of No. 15/82, Warapitiya, Kundasale and an old girl of Mahamaya Girls' College, Kandy.

Susith Samira Kumara Wickramaratne was awarded the Bhikaji Framji Khan Gold Medal for the best performance for Chemistry, Sultanbawa Prize for the best performance in Organic Chemistry and the University Award for Academic Excellence at the Special Degree Examination in Science 2007/2008 of the University of Peradeniya. Wickramaratne who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the son of Mr. & Mrs. S. G. Wickramaratne of No. 299/5, Deldeniya, Menikdiwela and an old boy of Dharmaraja College, Kandy.

Kaushini Sandya Kumari Wickremasinghe was awarded the Dr. C. A. Hewawitharana Memorial Prize for Physics for the best performance in Physics and the University Award for Academic Excellence at the Special Degree Examination in Science 2007/2008 of the University of Peradeniya.

Wickremasinghe who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. G. Wickremasinghe of No. 185/3, Dharmasoka Mawatha, Lewella and an old girl of Mahamaya Girls' College, Kandy.

Bhagya Kumari Wijayawardena was awarded the F. P. Amerasinghe Gold Medal for Excellence in Zoology and the University Award for Academic Excellence at the Special Degree Examination in Science 2007/2008 of the University of Peradeniya.

Wijayawardena who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. S. K. Wijayawardena of 202/1, Mount Pleasant, Bowalawatta, Kandy and an old girl of Mahamaya College, Kandy.

Mediwaththe Gedera Anushka Thejangani Menike Mediwaththe was awarded the Coomaraswamy Prize for Science for the best performance in Biological Sciences at the General Degree Examination in Science 2007/2008 of the University of Peradeniya.

Mediwaththe who obtained Second Class Honours (Upper Division) at this examination is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. P. B. Mediwaththe of No. 234/5, Kithamale Watte, 7th Mile Post, Karamada, Gelioya and an old girl of Mahamaya Girls' College, Kandy.

Chandrabose Manoj was awarded the Coomaraswamy Prize for Science for the best performance in Physical Sciences and the University Award for Academic Excellence at the General Degree Examination in Science 2007/2008 of the University of Peradeniya.

Manoj who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the son of Mr. & Mrs. C. Chandrabose of No. 29/18, William Gopallawa Mawatha, Kandy and an old boy of St. Sylvester's College, Kandy.
