Diploma in television and film unveiled

Sri Lanka Television Training Institute will offer a diploma in
Television and Film as a long felt need in the field of film making
which should have been addressed long before in Sri Lanka, Director,
SLTTI, Vasantha Obeyesekere said. This intensive diploma will start in
July for a duration of one year where 32 students will be recruited.
The course will consist of four fields of specialization, Direction,
Electronic Cinematography, Editing, Sound Engineering.
In addition to the theoretical knowledge, students will be provided a
multi-disciplinary education including music, dancing, painting and
other forms of performing arts. Thus they will come out as artistes with
an aesthetic touch.
Students will first be educated in three sessions where they will
receive a common module for the first 3 months while each will
specialise in the four course modules for eight months. In the last two
months each of them will participate in making a short film.
Students keen on enrolling will be assisted through loan schemes and
scholarships. |
