Catholic Bishops meet President, pledge support to Govt relief efforts

A delegation of Catholic Bishops and representatives of Caritas-Sedec led by Archbishop of Colombo Most Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis met President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday evening and pledged their full support to the Government's program of providing relief to the Vanni civilians who have left the LTTE held territory, a President's Office spokesperson told the Daily News.

The delegation included among others Bishop of Trincomalee-Batticaloa Rev. Dr. Kingsley Swamipilai, Bishop of Chilaw Rev. Dr. Valence Mendis and Bishop of Ratnapura Rev. Cletus C Perera.
