Book launch
Sadaham Sithmal Yaya - 2:
Nearly a year after its successful debut, Sadaham Sithmal Yaya, the
second volume of the book titled Sadaham Sithmal Yaya - 2 was launched
at the Polgahawela Bhavana Asapuwa. The book is compiled and edited by
author and former journalist of Silumina Thanuja Dharmapala according to
the discussions she had with Ven. Kiribathgoda Yanananda and is
published as a Senarath publication.
The book is a result of some of a series of interviews that
Dharmapala had with the Thera during the days she was employed as a
journalist.
The latest addition to the series is mainly focused on meditation. It
explains the techniques behind Bavana methods and how to release
yourselves form the daily anxieties and relieve yourself form stress.
In addition Sadaham Sithmal Yaya - 2 relates effective methods on how
an individual should act when faced with certain problems that emerge in
day to day life.
Such issues can be solved if the Buddha’s teachings are taken to
heart and practiced.
This handy book which includes valuable information in connection
with the Buddha’s teachings is priced Rs. 250 and is found at all the
leading bookstores in the island.
Asirimath Bana Katha - 3
Somaratne Banneheke’s latest book on Buddhism entitled Asirimath Bana
Katha - 3 was launched recently.
He is the author of Asirimath Bana Katha - 1 and Asirimath Bana Katha
- 2. The three books teach Buddhists religious aspects in life. The book
is a Dayawansa Jayakody Book Publication.
Manthrakariyage Sirasa
S. Chandrasiri Dassanayake’s Manthrakariyage Sirasa will be launched
at Dayawansa Jayakody Book Exhibition Hall, Colombo 10 on Tuesday, May
12 at 10 a.m.
Manthrakariyage Sirasa is the authentic Sinhala translation of H.
Rider Haggard’s popular work Witch’s Head.
Dassanayake is the author of several other books such as Sendeve
Sirakaruva, Jamaika Thanayama, Scarlet Pimpernel, Pragnave Diyaniya
Ayesha, Amen Deviyage Diyaniya, Sheeba Reginage Muduva, Arunodaye Regina
and Cleopatra. The book is a Dayawansa Jayakody Book Publication.
