Samurdhi recipients return cards

Samurdhi recipients numbering 100 at the Halpita village have returned their Samurdhi cards to the Government at the ceremonial opening of the village held recently under the patronage of Nation Building Minister Jagath Pushpakumara.

They handed over their Samurdhi cards to W.K.K. Kumarasiri - Secretary to the Ministry.

This model village under the concept of Gama Neguma program consists of 250 Samurdhi recipient families and they have been brought several self-employment and vocational training programs.

These income generating programs have resulted in these Samurdhi beneficiaries returning their Samurdhi cards to the Government.
