Fast opposite embassies - NFF

If the UK and French Foreign Ministers' purpose of visit to Sri Lanka is to give amnesty to Tamil Tigers, we are ready to start a fast in front of foreign embassies, said National Freedom Front President Wimal Weerawansa.

"Definitely they will not come for the betterment of our civilians.

They have a fear, if Prabakaran will be arrested he will tell how those countries allegedly supported him to continue this war. Thats why they asked him to lay down arms to a third party.

We are fully alert in what they say and what they are going to do. Sri Lankans had to face so many difficulties because of this cruel war. We lost so many valuable lives. Hence no one likes to give amnesty to Tigers.

Sri Lanka's military has been ordered to stop using heavy guns and combat aircraft in the battle against the LTTE because it could cause civilian casualties. We have only five kilometers to protect civilians from the LTTE. If we use heavy guns and aircraft definitely civilians will get hurt.

That's why they decided to stop using those things," he said.
