Bollegala village in the Western Province, developed at a cost of Rs.
10 million as a model village, under the Jathika Saviya -Maga-Naguma
development drive was opened by Nation Building Minister S.M.
Chandrasena recently.
Over 770 families will be benefited by the modern infrastructure
facilities available in this model village. The village also provides
the necessary environment for the spiritual and physical development of
the people who live there.
The funds have been provided by the Ministry of Nation Building and
Estate Infrastructure Development.
This village consists of 10 concreted by-roads, a house built for a
War Hero and six houses built under the "Samurdhi Diriya Piyasa"
constructed with the 20 percent of labour partnership. Two irrigation
projects and a school building built at a cost of 1.8 million are also
included in the model project.
Awareness programmes aimed to promote self- employment and
productivity development are also being conducted at the village for the
people's benefit. |
