Medical care for IDPs

The authorities of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital have taken
measures to provide medical care for the injured and sick IDPs escaping
the clutches of the LTTE.
Hospital sources said nearly 200 persons have been treated during the
last three days for injuries resulting from shootings, suicidal bomb
blasts and assaults by the LTTE when fleeing. Six mothers who underwent
caesarean deliveries are treated in ward 15.
There are 46 IDPs warded. Some have undergone surgery and warded in
wards 3,5,8,10,15 and 17.
North Central Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake visited the
patients warded at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital on the
instructions of the President.
