All favourites teams obliged with good performances to reach the
second round in the Holcim FA Cup qualifying round matches conducted by
the Football Federation of Sri Lanka played at different venues during
the weekend.
The second round matches will commence on May 2. This knockout
tournament has always created excitement and given opportunities to less
fancied teams to meet the challenge playing premier league teams and
become champions.
Last year Police SC became champions after 33 years and debutant
Civil Security Force runner-up in a penalty shoot out in front of
thousands of soccer crazy fans.
