Retribution will come for Prabhakaran

- UNP Chairman

UNP Chairman Gamini Jayawickrama Perera MP told Parliament on Wednesday that the LTTE Leader Prabhakaran has faced the present fate of retribution due to measures taken by him to kill a large number of UNP leaders and his action to defeat UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe at the 2005 Presidential Election.

He said the UNP Leader was denied the Presidency as the LTTE Leader ordered the Tamil people to boycott of the elections held in the areas which were under the control of the LTTE at that time.

The MP said even the Karuna faction could break away with 6000 cadres from the LTTE as a result of the Ceasefire Agreement signed by the UNP. Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga also faced to same fate owing to corruption and frauds during her regime. Retribution awaits wrong-doers and they will be punished even in their death-beds," he said.

The MP was speaking in Parliament on Wednesday during the debate on the Nation Building (Amendment) Bill and the Local Authorities(Special Provisions) Amendment Bill.
