CDB appoints independent directors
The Ceylinco Development Bank (CDB) has appointed two independent
directors, Harindra-nath Gunawardena and Namal Chrishantha Gomes, in
facilitating the process of reconstituting its Board of Directors.

Harindranath Gunawardena is at present the Managing Director of
Harmon Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, a Management Consultancy & Process
Re-engineering company. He has an experience of 20 years, having held
senior management and board level positions in large local and
international companies.
He has also broadened his management experience through his work
experience in Japan, UK and Jamaica. Gunawardena holds a B.Sc. (Hons)
degree from the University of Peradeniya, and a Masters in Information
Engineering (M.Eng) from the University of Nagoya, Japan. He is a Member
of the British Computer Society [MBCS], Computer Society of Sri Lanka
Institute of Management Sri Lanka and a Member of the Chartered
Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
Namal Chrishantha Gomes is the Founder and President Partner of Gomes
& Company (Chartered Accountants). His wealth of experience covers the
areas of Internal Auditing, Statutory Auditing, Tax Planning, Corporate
Planning, Financial Management, Company Secretarial practice and General
Administration in different industries.
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy from the University of Sri
Jayewardenepura and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the
Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), Sri Lanka. He is a Member of
the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA), the Society
of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (ASCMA), and the
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
The appointment of Independent Directors will further strengthen the
CDB's Board of Directors and will enable the independent directors to
head the Sub-Committees of the Board. These appointments will reinforce
the measures initiated by CDB to position itself as an independent
institution directly regulated and supervised by Central Bank of Sri
Lanka. |
