JHU protests Oslo attack

Over 700 demonstrators marched to Norwegian Embassy Monday in protest of the the Sri Lankan Embassy attack in Oslo on April 12 by pro-LTTE Tamil groups in Norway.

The protest was led by Jathika Hela Urumaya(JHU) with the participation of several anti-terrorist and patriotic organizations in the country.

The Norwegian Government has apologized to Sri Lanka after several LTTE supporters broke into Sri Lankan embassy in Oslo during a pro-Tiger protest in Oslo, who have damaged the embassy.

JHU Propaganda Secretary Nishantha Warnasinghe said, ”they have violated the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations by allowing this incident to happen at a time when the Sri Lankan Government has already defeated the terrorist outfit.

” There were threats against their embassy during the Norway played a facilitator role in Sri Lanka, but the government of Sri Lanka protected it from being attacked,” he pointed out.
