Attack on Lankan Embassy in Oslo:
No word of condemnation by Ranil
Chaminda Perera
Transport Minister Dullas Allahapperuma yesterday noted that
Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has failed to condemn the attack
on the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oslo.
The Minister said not a single word was uttered by the UNP leader in
condemnation of the attack by the pro LTTE activists in Norway.
The Oppositions in the past have joined hands with the Governments in
power when the country was facing a crisis but the present Opposition is
aiding and abetting the pro LTTE elements to protest against the
Government.
“The International Community was made to believe by the pro LTTE
activists that Sinhalese were barbarians and are prepared to commit
genocide, he said. Not a single political party in the world that
embraced democracy has entered into agreements with terrorists.
The UNP should take the responsibility for betraying the country’s
territorial integrity to a group of terrorists which had killed
thousands of innocent civilians.
The Minister said the UNP attempted to strengthen the LTTE’s fire
power during its regime while not importing any military equipment to
fight the war.
“The UNF government used various subtle manoeuvres to cripple the
country’s intelligent service and more than a hundred informants were
killed by the LTTE terrorists in Colombo, as a result. |
