Buddhist talk
U. Mapa will deliver a public Buddhist talk in English on "Dana,
Seela, Bhavana" at a meeting of the Servants of the Buddha Society on
Saturday, April 11 at 4.30 p.m. at the Maitri Hall, Lauries Road,
Bambalapitiya.

New Year anointing ceremony
The National New year anointing ceremony will be held at the historic
Mahiyangana Raja Maha Viharaya on April 15 at 7.32 a.m. under the
patronage of Indigenous Medicine Minister Tissa Karaliyadda, a press
release by the Department of Government Information said.

Lecture
'Vishnu Sarastanama Lecture and Arathanai' which was organised by
Colombo Ayurpadi Alvar Samaja will be held at Peter's Place (Kiriya
Babaji Yoga Centre), Dehiwala on Saturday April 11 commencing from 4.30
p.m. to 6. p.m.

Prayers, lectures
The program will commence on Sunday, April 12 with Rathibathul
Jalaliya by Moulavi A.B.M. Mubarak (falahi) and Y.M. Rafi. It will be
conducted after Magrib prayers and will continue till Isha prayers. A
religious lecture will also be conducted.

Badur Mowlood
The recital of Badur Mowlood, will be conducted by Al Haj Moulavi M.T.
Hillurudeen (Falahi) and Al Haj Moulavi A.B.M. Mubarak (Falahi) from
April 9 after Magrib prayers and will continue until Isha prayers at the
Nawala Jummah Mosque.

Workshop
The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources is the focal point
for implementing the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the
Ozone Layer, which is an international treaty designed to protect the
ozone layer by phasing out consumption and production of a number of
substances responsible for ozone depletion.
A workshop in this connection will be held on April 16 and 17 at the
Galadari Hotel, Colombo. |
