Munoz a new world record

Spain's Rafael Munoz broke the men's 50m butterfly world record with a time of 22.43sec at the Spanish swimming championships here on Sunday.

Munoz beat the former mark of 22.96sec set by South Africa's Roland Schoeman in July 25 2005 at Montreal, Canada.

The 21-year-old Munoz is the star of the championships so far and on Saturday he broke the European 100m butterfly record with 50.58sec.
