Avurudhu bonus for CF Savings Account holders

Central Finance Company (CF) savings account holders (Except CF Excel Savings Account Holders) are in for an Avurudhu Bonanza when they can qualify themselves to a draw bringing attractive prizes.

They have to deposit a minimum Rs 5,000 during April and let the money remain for three months until the end of July 2009. The draw will be held in August. They are free to deposit more than Rs 5,000 and enhance their chances of winning a prize since every deposit of Rs 5,000 will entitle them to an additional opportunity to compete.

Two hundred and eleven CF savings account holders will win prizes with the first prize winner getting an air ticket to Bangkok and back. Ten winners will receive Rs 10,000 each and 200 more will get consolation prizes. All CF Fixed Deposit holders who receive monthly interest between April 6-19 can collect their interest on April 6. This is a special arrangement for the Sinhala New Year.

Arrangements have also been made for the CF offices to be kept open on April 14 from 9.30 a.m. till 11.30 a.m. for Avurudhu transactions following the traditional custom of ganu denu.

At the end of December 2008, company’s total assets stood at Rs 31.2 billion as compared with Rs 29.4 billion in 2007 (April-December) while deposits increased from Rs 12.3 billion to Rs 13.3 billion. Profit before tax was 1.04 billion (increase of 6.4 per cent over corresponding period), while after tax profits recorded a marginal (0.9 per cent) drop due to higher taxation.

Double benefits in one account

Cargills grand grocery extravaganza

The Cargills Supremo Grand Grocery Extravaganza will give customers the opportunity to win groceries for the entire year by simply purchasing any two packets of Cargills Supremo Chicken Sausages or Meat Balls.

The five families would receive a total of Rs. 60,000 worth groceries for a year. Ten families would be picked at the grand draw for Rs. 30,000 worth groceries. In addition 70 lucky kids would be able to win a bicycle each.

The winning families can choose between ready-made hampers or gift vouchers which can be redeemed against essential food items at any Cargills Food City. The essential food items would include Rice, Sugar, Dhal, Big Onions, Potatoes, Coconuts, Cargills Supremo Sausages and Cargills Supremo Meat Balls.
