Educational scholarships for children of war heroes

A delegation from the Sri Lanka Muslim Council led by N.M. Ameen called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on Monday and held discussions with him.

The delegation also handed over a cash donation to the President to grant 250 educational scholarships to children of war heroes who had sacrificed their lives or got injured in the humanitarian Operation to liberate civilians from LTTE clutches, said the Presidential Media Unit in a press release.

Each beneficiary will receive a scholarship worth Rs. 10,000 under this program.

Ministers A.H.M. Fowzie and Rishard Bathiutheen, Deputy Minister K.A. Bais and Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga were also present on the occasion.
