‘We, are us’ focuses on human conflicts

Susila production’s latest creation, Api Api Vagey, directed by Ravgindra Wijeratne, is being telecast on weekdays except Wednesdays on ITN at 9 p.m.

Ravindra is the maker of popular creations like Jeewithaya Lassanai, also produced by Sandya Mendis on behalf of Susila Productions, had based the story of his latest creation around a host of young characters.

Amarantha, a school teacher, is a stern character. His laws and regulations are thorough and his is the father of three children Binara, Esala and Nikini. Esala is the second child in the family and he has launched a musical troupe with his friends Tisara, Vatsara, Devinda and Sandaru.

Esala gets the consent of his family to hold their practices at their home. Everyone knows about this project except his father.

Meanwhile Binara, the elderst of the family is driven by the ambition to earn wealth. He is ready to sell any of the possessions that the family owns to achieve his goal. The musical team with the assistance of Binara takes part in a program at Binara’s institution. Binara is aware that Sonali, the head of the institution, has a romantic interest towards him. He indicates that he wishes to marry her but ends up deceiving her.

Udula, Amaranarha’s neighbour dislikes the musical troupe. Shanthi, Udula’s firnd, dispels his protedt towards the group by getting Devinda and Vatsara to board at his residence. Slowly a love affairs builds between Tesara and Nikini. Api Api Vagey stars Sriyantha Mendis,

Janak Premalal, Jagath chamila, Sujani Menaka, Hashinika Karaliyyade, Chamila Peiris, Iresha Ranasinghe, Gayan Wickramasinghe, Shalani Tharuka, Chandra Kaluarachchi and Deepani Silva. The script is by Anoma Wijesinghe, Asanka Sayakkara and Chamara Prasantha.

The Pushpakumara Bandaragama had handeled the make up department. Deepthi Mangalasoma is the art director, Jayantha Ranasinghe the cameraman, and Saman Ariyaratne is the editor. The music is by Kapila Pugalarachchi. Saliya de Soysa is the line producer.
