Brazil: Rich countries to blame for crisis
Brazil: Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva condemned the fact
the poor are the hardest hit by the international financial crisis,
since the world elite are the ones to blame for the current economic
situation.
During a press conference, after meeting with British Prime Minister
Gordon Brown, formally visiting Brazil, Lula affirmed the crisis was
originated by affluent countries markets, and the poor can not be the
ones to pay for their mistakes.
"We can not let it happen, mainly because no negro, indigenous or
poor generated this turbulence, but the world's rich and powerful
people, white and blue eyed-people, who knew what was to come before the
crisis, and now feigned indifference", Lula stated.
Lula described April's G20 London Summit, real reason of Brown's
visit to Brazil, as a historic event, since it will be a high point of
high expectations.
Lula and Brown coincided to affirm the need to conclude Doha Round to
work towards trade negotiations, and diminish the effects of the crisis.
Both Heads of State will pronounce in favor of efficient measures to
recover credits to finance trade at G20 Summit of rich and emerging
countries in London, since British Prime Minister thinks the 90 percent
of world trade depends of credit.
BrownA's visit to several nations of the area is also aimed at
fostering a proposal to create a 100,000 billion dollars fund for
financing world trade. Brasilia, Prensa Latina
