Victoria Golf and Country Resort will conduct a All Nations Texas
Scramble golf championship at the Victoria Golf Course on Sunday. The
championship will be off to a shot gun start at 9 a.m.
At the time of writing, four nations, comprising golfers based in Sri
Lanka have named their team. British professionals Mike Varney who had
stint at Victoria Golf and Country Resort as its General Manager for two
years before taking up appointment in another country will be coming
over to Sri Lanka to lead the Canada team.
Mike Varney who has a zero handicap will be a golfer to watch and in
the little competitive golf he has played at Victoria, he has put up
some good displays.
The Sri Lankans have not named their teams and it has golfers of the
calibre of Sujeewa Lankatillake, Sam Gunaratne, Sirath Kasthuriratne,
based in Kandy to make up a team.

manager Maheel Bulumulla is a happy man as there has been a rich growth
of grass in the course and it is green as ever.
Very good golf is in store for the golfers. The Wales team has also
named a strong side captained by inform former Cheshire cricketer and
ruggerite Ian Tait with Sonia Boyle and Paulina Morley completing the
team.
