Better opportunities for trained staff
Textile Development Ministry Additional Secretary H. N. R. B. Herath
said: "Those who underwent training at the Textile Training and Services
Centre (TT and SC) have found gainful employment at leading garment
factories.
Therefore, we will take every step possible to upgrade this training
center to play a pivotal role in the development of this sector in
future."
Additional Secretary Herath expressed these views participating as
chief guest at a function held at the Textured Jersey garment factory in
the Investment Promotion Zone at Avissawella.
The ceremony was marked with the signing of an agreement to conduct a
diploma course of the TT and SC for 34 employees at the factory
premises.
Managing Director of Textured Jersey Company Rohana Goonathilake
addressing the ceremony said this agreement would herald the development
of this sector and also would turn out to be a model to other garment
industries.
General Manager Textured Jersey Shehan Witharana, Deputy Director of
TT and SC D. N. S. Kuruppumulla, Sajith Wickremarachchi and Mangala
Durwinka were also present at the ceremony. |
