Minister Chamal Rajapaksa's service felicitated
The Southern Development Authority has organized a charitable social
program from March 29 under the theme Hiru Negena Giruwaya to
commemorate 20 years of Parliamentary life of Ports Civil Aviation and
Water Management Minister Chamal Rajapaksa, according to a news release
by the DG, SDA Chairman.
The program will start with 40 houses being vested with 40 low-income
dwellers in the Suriyawewa area and the donation of 1,000 spectacles to
1,000 visually handicapped persons.
A clinic with indigenous and western treatment including specialist
treatment for those in need has also been arranged. Arrangements are
made to donate school books and school equipment to the children of war
soldiers and donate wheelchairs for the disabled persons in the area.
The Beliatta Crematorium built at a cost of Rs. 8,400,000 will be
ceremonially opened on September 01. The whole social charitable program
is assisted by the Helpage, Lions and the Janasarana. Deputy Minister
Lionel Premasiri, Provincial Ministers A.D.G. Jayasiri and V.K. Indika
also contributed to the success of the program. |
