Italy gives $ 26,000 for Lanka
The Italian Government has allocated Euros 20,060 (US $26,000), to
provide, through the World Health Organization, two Interagency
Emergency Health Kits.
Each IEKH consists of a supply of basic medicines for 10,000 people,
for three months.
The Italian Government in January provided Euros 250,000 (US $
330,000) to the UNHCR to improve water and sanitation services in
refugee camps in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Vavuniya, Batticaloa and
Trincomalee, while, in February, another Euros 250,000 were allocated to
the World Health Organization to fund activities aimed at improving
essential health services for the displaced in the Northern Districts. |
