SP students tour in Thailand

Southern Provincial Council Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal de Silva, through the Provincial Education Ministry has provided an educational tour in Thailand to the 12 best students in the province who have obtained the highest marks in the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination last year.

These students selected from Galle, Matara and Hambantota districts are expected to leave for Thailand today and air tickets were handed over by Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka yesterday at the Prime Minister's office.

Two similar batches of students were sent on such educational tours in 2006 and 2007 to Malaysia and Singapore by the Southern Provincial Council under the guidance of Chief Minister.
