SMS service for passport applicants
The Department of Immigration and Emigration will launch a series of
public services with the use of IT technology at the Department premises
today.
These new services will include the launching of a SMS service to
inform passport applicants of the readiness of their new passports and
provision of modern facilities at the public reception unit on the first
floor of the Department building.
Controller of Immigration and Emigration P. B. Abeykoon and Telecom
Chairperson Leisha de Silva Chandrasena will be chief guests at the
occasion.
